EDUC 410 - Seminar: Certification Capstone/Professionalism

Designed to complement the spring residency of candidate seeking Residency Teaching Certification, this course will provide support and guidance in the final quarter of the Residency, in understanding professional requirements, and in preparing a Draft Professional Growth Plan. (required for certification)

Compare and contrast the preservice performance standards with the inservice performance benchmarks for professional teachers in Washington.

Summarize the ways in which inservice teachers are evaluated against professional standards for continued employment

Effectively articulate individual strengths aligned with program outcomes and certification/employment standards via a mock interview.

Develop an action plan to meet ongoing Washington state certification renewal requirements via the Professional Growth Plan state template.
