NRSG 110 - Professionalism and Ethics in Nursing 1

This course introduces the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to manage legal and ethical challenges in nursing practice. Students will explore the role of socioeconomic factors and ethnic/cultural background contributing to health disparities. The focus is on considering personal values clarification, bias, and accountability in the development of professional nursing behaviors. Students begin the process of building a professional portfolio. The nursing student will be introduced to the ANA nursing code of ethics as well as discuss federal and state laws that apply to the registered nurse.
