Distribution Areas


Humanities


To fulfill the Humanities Distribution requirement students must complete:

  • At least 5 credits in Area 1. No more than 10 credits may come from any one department.
  • 5 credits in Area 2

Area I Humanities

*The same credits may not be used to satisfy both the Communications requirement and the Humanities Distribution requirements.

Area II Humanities

Social Sciences


Choose from the following two areas. A minimum of five credits must come from each area. No more than 10 credits may come from any one department.

Natural Sciences


To complete the Natural Science requirement, Associate in Arts DTA students must complete 15 credits, including:

  • At least one 5-credit course that includes a lab (L) experience
  • At least 10 credits from the Physical, Biological, and/or Earth Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, Oceanography, Astronomy, or Physics)
  • No more than 5 credits from Anthropology, Computer Science, Engineering, General Science, Math, and Psychology
  • No more than 10 credits from one subject

Note:


Mathematics courses used to satisfy the Quantitative Skills requirement may not be applied toward the Distribution requirement.
