The Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management at Highline College is a structured, affordable two- year program where you will learn the principles of business operations and the important skill of motivating and leading others to achieve productivity. You will receive a strong foundation in business and management fundamentals. Elective credits make it possible to specialize in 1) Logistics and Supply Chain Management 2) Leadership or 3) Accounting, which includes enough higher-level accounting credits earned to qualify for the CPA Exam. Students can also choose to complete a general track without a concentration.

Learning Outcomes


A student earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management will be able to:

  • Use and apply appropriate terminology, processes, and key principles in discussing multifaceted issues in the areas of business management. 
  • Analyze the key roles that managers play in company financial decisions, customer relations issues, operating procedures, product development, and risk and regulatory compliance. 
  • Formulate alternatives and tradeoffs in business operations, while taking into consideration issues such as corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and risk management.
  • Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills used in organizational management and negotiations.
  • Apply professional ethics in a global context when dealing with confidential information, relationships with suppliers and customers, and employees.
  • Analyze complex problems and make data-based decisions using appropriate decision-making techniques.
  • Analyze market constraints, adopt effective marketing approaches, and design integrated marketing plans using advanced marketing concepts in an international marketplace and cross-cultural manner.
  • Conduct data analysis and explain how these analytics can impact aspects of the supply chain to improve forecasts, demand planning, sourcing, production, and distribution.
  • Formulate hypotheses for decision-making and research, analyze data using appropriate statistical techniques, and interpret the results of statistical analysis for use in decision making.

Program Eligibility


To qualify for admission to Highline College’s Business Management Bachelor’s Degree Program, eligible applicants must have:

  • Completed a regionally accredited AAS degree (or its equivalent) in business or related fields
  • Other associate degrees will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Official transcripts from an accredited college or university;
  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.25 or better.

Application Process


Prospective students must submit the following to be considered for the Bachelor of Applied Science program: 

  • Completed Highline Bachelor of Applied Science application form
  • An associate degree in a business related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • Other associate degrees will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Official transcripts from a regionally accredited college or university.

Associate Degree/Related Credits (55-60 credits)


Up to 60 applicable credits from an Associate of Applied Science degree issued by a regionally accredited institution. Transfer associate degree credits from a regionally accredited institution may be applied to general education requirements if applicable.
