HONOR 299 - Honors Interdisciplinary 2 Credits Group-based research seminar built around Honors in Action, a PTK national competition. Students will explore a topic linked to a contemporary world issue and develop a plan of action based on their research.

Students will be guided through the following steps:
1. Choosing a theme and research question
2. Developing a research plan and objectives
3. Exploring sources
4. Analyzing research
5. Developing an action plan
6. Carrying out action plan (service learning component)
Student Learning Outcomes Work collaboratively with other students on a major group-based research project.
Develop an appropriate research question linked to a broadly defined world issue
Understand and use a wide variety of credible sources (e.g. journals, books, articles, interviews)
Critically evaluate sources
Move from research and theory to a plan of action that addresses community needs and can be implemented by the class
