HSER 231 - Disability Issues and Practices2 Credits This course presents an overview of the historical and societal context in which individuals with disabilities are marginalized, discusses the major groupings of disabilities, and offers numerous models of practice for human services professionals. It addresses policy, theory and practice, focusing on disability from an empowerment perspective rather than the dysfunction of disability.
