Course Outline A continuation of MUSC 181, students sing master art song literature of the English and Itanilan Baroque period, later adding classic Broadway pieces (no belt). Brit English and Italian diction taught. Class divides into two groups; each group rotates presenting memorized solos every other week. A paper (250 words) describing the Baroque Song Style is submitted at the quarter’s end. Individual vocalises assigned as needed.

Summarize the basic vowel classifications and their relationship to vocal resonance
Summarize basic information about the repertoire performed in the class, such as style, form, history, and character analysis
Perform two solo songs from memory with accurate rhythm, pitch, and lyrics
