BUSN 318 - Project Management5 Credits Introduces the principles and techniques used in the Project Management process. Students will develop the tools needed for each phase of the project management process: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing.

Student Learning Outcomes Students will demonstrate the stages of project development.
Students will recognize, and appropriately use the terminology of Project Management in hypothetical situations and case study scenarios.
Students will identify, define, and practice the roles in Project Management work in assignments and case study scenarios.
Students will demonstrate how to identify and select projects using industry standard project management metrics and standards.
Students will demonstrate project planning techniques including scope, quality, work breakdown structure, basic activity sequencing, scheduling, and budgeting.
Students will demonstrate project performing and controlling techniques including managing risks, resources, and budgets, including financial analysis and reporting.
Students will analyze how the role of project management will differ across industries or vertically within an industry or company. .
Students will demonstrate how project management software is used in hypothetical situations and case study scenarios.
