HSER 301 - Learning Strategies in Higher Education3 Credits As students transition from their associate degree to the BAS Human Services program, it is important for them to become familiar with the expectations faculty have of students taking upper division courses. Students will have the opportunity to further develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.

Student Learning Outcomes Develop strategies to address strengths and challenges required for learning in upper-level Human Services courses, based on self-evaluation.
Articulate ways that learning strategies can support individual and clients’ educational goals.
Practice professional writing (case notes, grant writing, etc.) specific to the Human Services field.
Explain ways to apply critical thinking skills in given Human Services academic and professional situations.
