HSER 442 - Advanced Field Experience

4 Credits


Students are required to complete 120 hours of field experience working within a human services agency. Practicum experiences that place the student in challenging and key roles within high quality and established programs are approved by the current department coordinator. Students develop a comprehensive learning plan including measurable learning objectives, planned learning opportunities, and an evaluation method.

Pre-requisite(s) HSER 101 and ENGL& 101 minimum 2.0

  1. Orientation to the field experience site
  2. Establish learning objectives in collaboration with field experience supervisor 
  3. Engage human services clients in a professional setting
  4. Implement learning objectives on a weekly basis
  5. Reflect on field experience and how to apply learnings to professional practice
