Completing this one-quarter short certificate of Introduction to Business Technology will allow students to learn the basics of navigating office software to accomplish a variety of office work tasks. These skills include managing the Microsoft Windows operating system, fast and accurate keyboarding, document formatting for businesses with Microsoft Word, formatting and using formulas with Microsoft Excel, creating presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint, and creating and managing databases with Microsoft Access. This certificate is part of the Business Technology stackable programs - all classes count to higher certificate or degree.

Program Outcomes
- Students will correctly use components of Microsoft Office programs to create professional and academic documents.
- Demonstrate using the keyboard by touch, using correct fingering on letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Use Microsoft Word to format, proofread, and edit professional business documents such as reports, tables, meeting & event materials, and business letters.
- Demonstrate use of the latest Windows Operating System to navigate and customize the Windows desktop.
- Demonstrate ability to manage data using removable and cloud-based storage.
- Develop professional written and oral communication skills.
