Associate in Science-Transfer to Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering Track 2/MRP

If you love solving problems and helping people, bioengineering or chemical engineering may be the right path for you. The Associate of Science degree in bioengineering and chemical engineering (AS-T Track II MRP) is a 95-credit specialized transfer degree designed to prepare students for admission with junior status standing into bioengineering and chemical engineering programs at participating baccalaureate institutions.

AS, Bioengineering & Chemical Engineering Requirements
Communications Requirement - 5 credits
Distribution Requirements - 15 credits
AS degree students must complete a minimum of: - five credits in Humanities;
- five credits in Social Sciences; and
- five credits in either Humanities or Social Sciences.
Quantitative Skills Requirement: 15 credits
Complete the following: Pre-Major Requirements: 40 credits
Complete the following: Remaining Credit Requirement: 20 credits
Complete the following, with faculty advisor pre-approval: A minimum of 20 credits should be taken from the following list. Students do not need to take all of the courses on the list. Particular course requirements depend on the institution and major.
**At least one of these courses must be BIOL& 211 or CHEM& 262. Total Program Credits: 95
Learning Outcomes

- Have been introduced to the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

- Have been introduced to the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and societal context.
- Have recognition of the need for, and the ability to engage in life-long learning.
- Have knowledge of contemporary engineering issues.
Notes
Importance of Advising. Advising is an important part of completing a degree. Students are responsible for checking the transfer requirements of 4-year schools they plan to attend; advisors can help with this. Engineering is an “early advising” program. This means an Engineering student should meet with a faculty advisor in their first quarter. Faculty Advisors are teachers and experts in their subject. Making an appointment with an advisor will help students stay on track with their academic plans. |
