ART 228 - Design Drawing5 Credits In this course students will engage in drawing activities to gain an understanding of the power and importance of drawing as a creative and communicative tool. Topics include mastering color pencil and marker techniques, rendering of texture, pattern, and hard surfaces. At the end of the quarter, students are challenged to communicate design ideas through sketches and formal presentation methods.

Student Learning Outcomes Demonstrate color theory and how to use a color through colored drawings
Demonstrate texture, pattern, hard surfaces, furnishings and accessories in plan and elevation.
Create three-dimensional delineations of interiors using color pencils and pens.
Demonstrate drawing techniques and color to define light and shadow, textures, and material characteristics.
