CIS 263 - Data Network Design/Management3 Credits Defines the role of the network manager in organizational objectives, network accounting policies, inventory considerations, controls and charging practices. Includes in-depth coverage of traffic engineering and traffic management to size the network correctly. Addresses regulation tariffs of local- and long-haul services, switching hierarchy and data transport in the public network. Prepares students to design and maintain reliable service, manage costs, provide security, anticipate future needs and monitor legislative and regulatory activity.
