NRSG 125 - Pathopharmacology 2

This course is continues with pharmacology concepts and the use of medications in the role of a nurse. More advanced medication administration routes, safe practices, and numerical calculations are explored. Therapeutic and pharmaceutical classifications and considerations related to the common conditions in geriatric clients including fluid and electrolyte balance, acid/base balance, oxygenation, elimination, and cognition are examined.

Identify and classify medications used in the care of geriatric populations and in the care of persons experiencing health concerns related to fluid and electrolyte imbalances, acid/base balance, oxygenation, elimination, and cognition.

Identify safe dosage parameters and nursing role in verifying safe medication administration.
