ACHV 53 - ACHIEVE Practicum Seminar

3 Credits
Students will participate in the practicum seminar while simultaneously completing community-based internships, combining classroom theory with practical experience gained in the workplace. The practicum experiences are tied directly to students’ career goals and employment plan developed with the Career Specialist. Students will discuss and track progress toward practicum learning outcomes, discuss issues and concerns that happen on the job with instructors and peers (if applicable), and role-play effective on the job communication strategies.

Student Learning Outcomes
Students will create a Internship Agreement that outlines tasks to be performed and general workplace expectations during the internship in collaboration with the employer and career specialist.

Students will adequately perform assigned internship duties and accept feedback (when offered) in a professional manner.

Students will correctly document and report work hours.

Students will self-evaluate performance at the internship and compare that to their supervisor's evaluation.

Student will construct or update a resume documenting details about internship details and achievements
