Standards-Based Grading
Student Learning Outcomes Apply comprehensive measurement principles in educational settings by:
Implementing Common Core State Standards (CCSS), learning targets (LT), and success criteria (SC); Designing and utilizing effective rubrics for assessment; Developing systematic approaches to grading and data collection; Managing student data with appropriate confidentiality measures; Engaging in productive Professional Learning Community (PLC) discussions about student performance; Communicating student progress effectively with families and community stakeholders.
Compare and contrast various types of formative, summative and student-voice assessments aligned to CCSS.
Identify and determine biases in assessments. This means we look for sources of biases and how to minimize biases to be culturally responsive and equitable to all students. Which means serving distinguished lessons for all learning-types and needs.
Identify and determine all state standardized assessments for all grade school students and for our teacher candidates who are working on completing their teacher certification here at Highline College BAS in Elementary Education.
